Team Background:
A Christian since 1979, Bill has a Bible degree and was in the mission field for 2 years before returning for additional education as an airplane mechanic. Then he moved to Santa Fe were he met and then married Reneé at Calvary Chapel SF. They served in a variety of ministries at CCSF including worship team, children’s ministry, and kinship leaders. After 5 years of marriage and 3 children, they were called into the mission field in 2003.

Ministry Description: Bill is presently the pastor of two churches where he teaches verse by verse through the Bible. The first began as a mission outreach one mile from the city dump in a colonia called Lagunas del Valle. The second, Calvary Chapel Puerto Vallarta, was planted July 2003 in Puerto Vallarta, in the central part of the town. It began with an English service on Wednesday evenings and eventually a Sunday evening service in English was also started.

In January 2004, the church initiated a Spanish morning service as well. Both fellowships continue to grow.

Reneé is a home schooling mom and also serves alongside Bill as an administrative assistant. She also leads the women’s prayer ministry and serves alongside Bill as children’s ministry director.
All three of the Martin children are fluent in Spanish and English and serve alongside their Dad and Mom in ministry.

The new Agua Viva Café and Bookstore opened to the public as an outreach to bring more lost souls of Vallarta into the kingdom of God. Volunteers from the church run it as an opportunity for Christian service. The bookstore is a means for English speaking Christians to acquire good and Biblically sound Christian materials.

Prayer Concerns:

  • Please Pray for the administration needs of the church as there is much to keep up with.
  • Pray for the church that everyone would catch the vision of handing out flyers in the community.
  • Pray that people would grow in their walks and stick close to Jesus.
  • Pray for the Creation Festival as we take a team of 10 people to serve. Theresa and I are are directing the Childrens Tent/Club from Saturday through Friday.  Pray for wisdom, strength, energy, kindness, good health.   That we would be a blessing and for God's empowerment.
  • Pray for Theresa as she coordinates & oversees the facilitators for the Women's sessions at the Missions Conference in Austria.   For the Lord to give her wisdom and for God's blessing upon the week and the women's sessions.
  • As many of you know Ann's mom came to faith in Jesus this year. Please keep her in prayer as she has to undergo 6 weeks of treatment for a very serious illness. Pray that her body takes well to the treatment and that she keeps from getting sick.    Pray she does not have to eat by tube and for no side effects.
  • Pray for Ruth Dalton and her husband Lloyd.  They are dear people to us.  Ruth is battling terminal cancer and is being treated by hospice at home.  Pray for God to give them everything they need during this time.  Pray for her sleep, for Lloyd and for God's hand to guide them in each step.
  • Pray for good health & safety in our travels.

Praise Reports:

  • We took a team to Hungary again this year for the European Appeal 2010. The Lord added another supermarket again this year and two more tubs of donations than we had last year. Some of the missionaries we handed out items to who have been on the field for many years said that they have never had a care package. The head director of the conference center thanked us for bringing the items as well. We are very blessed to see what the Lord has done. The team we had served as well.
  • We supported the Military base in a Christian Music Kamp which also outreached to families at the base. The last day many of the parents came to the chapel who heard about the love and care the chapel staff had for them.
  • Brian and Cheryl Broderson came out to visit Theresa and I in Harrogate. We had a wonderful time with them as we showed them around the city.
  • The Pastor's conference in York was a great blessing where we heard teaching from Pastors from America and some from England.

Team Needs:

  • • For a permanent Church location and the finances to purchase the property and to build if it is the Lord’s will. • For our discipleship groups – Men, Women, Young Adults, Youth held on Saturday nights. Pray that more will commit and that more would be added. • For the people in the body to stay committed to the church and not leave when they feel challenged by God’s word but that they would stay seeking God’s highest for them in holiness. • For the youth to continue to apply all the truths the Lord taught them at the Youth retreat.
