Global Adventures Giving Support

ga web giving page

Calvary of Albuquerque collects and distributes financial donations for Global Adventures missionaries and missionary candidates. The total amount of the financial donation collected is sent to the missionary. Global Adventures/Calvary of Albuquerque does not deduct a percentage or fee from donations given to missionaries.

Financial support to missionaries is tax deductible. A receipt is sent to each donor listing the date the fund were processed, the missionary(ies) receiving the funds and the amount given to each missionary. In January, Calvary of Albuquerque will mail a Summary of Contributions letter listing all the previous year's donations including donations made to Global Adventures. The Summary of Contributions is the tax-deductible document accepted by IRS for verifying tax deductible donations made to Global Adventures through Calvary of Albuquerque.

Funds may be donated to any GA missionary and missionary candidate via cash, check, money order, credit card or automatic withdrawal. Checks and money orders must be made payable to Global Adventures or Calvary of Albuquerque. The missionary’s name should be written on the memo line of the check or money order (this is now permissible by IRS for missionaries as of 2003).

Online donations can also be made via credit card by going to a missionary's page on this website and then clicking on 'support this missionary' in the left hand column. Online donations are secured by GeoTrust. There is no fee for making an online donation. To go directly to the Calvary of Albuquerque online store now for missionary support click online donations.

To donate to the General Missions funds write “General Missions” on the memo line of your check or money order. These funds are used for materials needed by GA missionaries and missionary emergency assistance.

August Donor Letter

Dear Co-Laborers,

We had a wonderful time this past weekend here at Calvary of Albuquerque as our

“Meet-A-Missionary Weekend” brought out several missionaries in person to the church. This yielded even more support from the missionaries’ Care Teams and other supporters who labored on behalf of God’s work around the world. Something this weekend highlighted afresh was the blessing it is to the Body and the benefit it is to Christ when men and women give themselves to the purposes of God. Many of you who receive these letters helped with this weekend and on behalf of everyone who was blessed I want to say “thank you.”

What I observed this weekend reminded me again of the testimony of the Macedonians given by Paul in 2 Corinthians. As we saw last month, their example of giving has been recorded for all of church history to learn from as to how we are to give in a way that is authentic and honorable to the Lord. The Holy Spirit made a point of spotlighting a hallmark of the Macedonians that must be noted by the church. He wrote that in addition to them giving of their resources they “first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.” (8:5) As we continue this month in our Giving Globally series we want to consider the significance of being completely given over to the Lord as a prerequisite to giving financially. The reason that this is so important is because we as Christians can find that sometimes writing a check to a ministry is so much easier and, oddly enough, less sacrificial than giving our time, talents an energies (basically our whole life) to the Lord. Considering the Macedonians causes me to regularly examine my own heart regarding giving lest I get lulled into thinking that giving money is my only obligation to the Lord’s work or that that’s where my ministry to Him and the missionaries ends; He is often calling me to do more for Him by doing more for them.

In verse 7 Paul concludes these thoughts by saying, “But as you abound in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see that you abound in this grace also.” We would all do well by the Lord to be ever aware that before we give of any of our resources that we are first given wholly over to Him to the point that we are willing to do whatever He asks of us.

May God continue to bless you and your family as you continue to use those blessings to serve Him and His people.

 In His Service,

 Neil Ortiz
